Motorola launches new social-networking Android apps in Australia



Motorola, in affiliation with Optus, has launch a new social networking tool for mobiles with the Android operating system.

From the beginning of April, Motoblur will be offered across a range of Motorola 3F Android-powered handsets, starting with the upcoming Motorola DEXT and Motorola Backflip releases.

Android apps on Optus

The software syncs a user’s emails, posts, contacts, photos, messages and more from sources such as the social networks Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail, work and personal email, and LastFM. Content is automatically pushed straight to the home screen, in east-to-manage streams.

Optus has released a number of new mobile plans, called Optus ‘yes’ Social plans, and Optus ‘yes’ Business Complete plans, which provide unlimited access to Motoblur ‘Happenings’, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube.

Motorola DEXT is available for $0 upfront on the ‘yes’ Social $49 plan over 24 months, while the Motorola Backflip is available for $0 upfront on the ‘yes’ social $59 plan over 24 months.
